About Prakash Bolakhe

Prakash Bolakhe is a Nepalese entrepreneur, textile researcher, sustainability advocate, and founder of Castello Cashmere Industries Pvt. Ltd., a family-owned manufacturing company specializing in handcrafted cashmere and natural fiber products from Nepal. His journey in the textile world began long before he entered business — it is deeply rooted in a family legacy of craftsmanship spanning three generations.

Three Generations of Craftsmanship
First Generation

Grandfather: Traditional Artisan

A master craftsman working extensively with natural materials such as rice stems and bamboo, creating handmade house mats and indigenous Nepali handicrafts. He was Prakash's first teacher in the intimate relationship between artisanship and the natural world.

Second Generation

Father: Factory Manager

Worked as a manager in various textile factories across Kathmandu. Through his father's work, Prakash learned about quality management, operational discipline, and the human side of production systems.

Third Generation

Prakash: Visionary Entrepreneur

Built a vertically integrated manufacturing company that honors ancestral traditions while embracing sustainable practices and international standards. He continues the family legacy of conscious creation.

Formative Influences

Childhood in Nature

As a child, Prakash spent countless hours observing his grandfather's craftsmanship and often accompanied him into the forests to collect bamboo materials. These early experiences developed a profound understanding of the intimate relationship between artisanship and the natural world.

The Charkha: Meditation Through Creation

During his teenage years, Prakash developed a deep fascination for the traditional Charkha, the spinning machine used to transform raw fiber into thread. Watching artisans work in silence and concentration, he began to understand craftsmanship not simply as production, but as a meditative process — a form of consciousness expressed through creation itself.

A Philosophy Born from Observation

This realization deeply influenced his philosophy that handmade textiles carry vibrational energy that cannot be replicated through synthetic materials or industrial automation. It became the cornerstone of his entire business vision.

Education & International Growth

Building Castello Cashmere Industries

After completing his Master's degree in Management, Prakash established Castello Cashmere Industries Pvt. Ltd., building a vertically integrated family-owned manufacturing company that employs skilled Nepalese artisans across multiple areas of textile craftsmanship. The company specializes in premium handmade cashmere products and other natural fibers while preserving traditional Himalayan craftsmanship through sustainable production methods.

Expanding to Global Markets

Alongside manufacturing, he expanded operations by opening boutique stores throughout Kathmandu, serving both domestic and international markets. Over the years, Prakash has worked extensively with international partners across Europe and other global markets, gaining valuable experience in international quality standards, sustainable manufacturing systems, business management, and evolving consumer expectations.

Education, Mentorship & Community

Beyond entrepreneurship, Prakash is deeply committed to education, mentorship, and community development. He actively teaches and conducts educational sessions at universities and institutions, where he shares knowledge on textile production, international business standards, entrepreneurship, technical skills development, and sustainable manufacturing practices.

He works closely with young Nepalese entrepreneurs and artisans, helping prepare the next generation for participation in international markets while preserving Nepal's rich heritage of handcrafted production. His vision extends beyond business success to include service to others, preservation of cultural heritage, and environmental responsibility.

Philosophy & Vision

The True Measure of Success

At the center of Prakash's philosophy is the belief that true business success is not measured solely through financial growth, but through service to others, preservation of cultural heritage, environmental responsibility, and conscious creation.

"A broader movement connecting: Sustainable Farming → Conscious Fashion → Spiritual Textile → Spiritual Living"

Today, Prakash continues to expand both personally and professionally through new projects aligned with sustainability, conscious craftsmanship, education, and global collaboration. He remains dedicated to creating meaningful impact by serving artisans, protecting traditional knowledge systems, and building a future where business, nature, spirituality, and craftsmanship exist in harmony.
