This follows a traditional Ṣoḍaśopacāra (16 Upacāra) style of Shiva worship, expanded with Abhiṣeka, Pañcāmṛta Snāna, Naivedya, Ārati, and concluding prayers. It is suitable for daily worship as well as special occasions such as Mahāśivarātri, Śrāvaṇa Somavāra, and Pradoṣa Vratam.
- Ācamana (Purification by sipping water)
- Wear the sacred ring (Pavitra Dhāraṇa)
- Sprinkle water (Prokṣaṇa) on yourself and all worship materials.
- Make a Sankalpa (sacred resolve).
- Meditation (Dhyāna)

Sacred Bath (Abhiṣeka)
- Bath with cow’s milk – I offer a milk bath.

- Bath with cow’s ghee – I offer a ghee bath.
- Bath with honey – I offer a honey bath.
- Pañcāmṛta bath – I offer a Pañcāmṛta bath.
- Bath with scented water – I offer a fragrant water bath.
- Bath with pure water – I offer a pure water bath.

I offer ornaments.
Fragrant Perfume
I offer fragrant perfume. After completing these offerings, wash your hands with water and place all the offered items neatly. Then offer incense and a lamp.
Incense (Dhūpa)

Lamp (Dīpa)
I offer the sacred lamp.
Food Offering (Naivedya)
I offer food to the Lord.

Apply sandalwood paste with the ring finger of the right hand while chanting:
