Introduction

Sound is one of the most ancient ways through which human beings connect with the inner self.

In the Sanatan tradition, Nāda is understood as sacred vibration, and the practice of listening deeply to sound can become a doorway to meditation, awareness, and inner stillness.

The Chakra Sound Meditation & Singing Bowl Ceremony is a contemplative practice that combines singing-bowl resonance, Bīja Mantras, conscious breathing, silence, and awareness of the seven principal chakra centers.

This is not simply about listening to sound. It is an invitation to slow down, become present, listen within, and experience the journey from grounding to higher awareness.

Sacred Beginning

The ceremony begins by creating a peaceful and conscious space.

1. Prepare the Space

Create a clean, quiet and harmonious environment. Invite the participant to lie comfortably in Śavāsana.

2. Light the Diya

Light a diya or candle as a symbol of Jyoti – inner light, awareness and divine consciousness.

Take a moment of silence and establish a simple intention:

May this practice bring peace, awareness, harmony and conscious presence.

3. Conscious Breathing

Take several slow and natural breaths.

Allow the body to become relaxed and the mind to become quiet.

4. Invocation of Om

Chant:

ॐ – Om × 3

Allow the vibration of Om to fill the space.

The Chakra Sound Journey

The journey begins at the Mūlādhāra – Root Chakra and gradually moves upward toward Sahasrāra – Crown Chakra.

At each center, the singing bowl is gently played, followed by the corresponding Bīja Mantra, allowing the sound and silence to become objects of meditation.

The Practice

At each chakra:

Singing Bowl → Resonance → Bīja Mantra → Breath → Silence → Awareness

The participant is gently invited to bring awareness to the corresponding chakra while remaining relaxed and receptive to the sound.

There is no need to force an experience.

Simply listen, breathe, observe and remain present.

From Sound to Silence

As the journey moves upward, the external sound gradually becomes an internal experience.

The singing bowl creates vibration.

The mantra creates awareness.

The breath creates presence.

And silence creates space for consciousness.

The purpose is not to chase a particular sensation, but to cultivate inner stillness and conscious awareness.

Crown Chakra & Closing

Chakra Sound Meditation with Prakash Bolakhe Aananda
At the Sahasrāra, allow the sound to become increasingly subtle.

Chant:

ॐ – AUM × 3

Then allow the final vibration to disappear naturally into silence.

Remain in stillness for several minutes.

Feel the breath.

Feel the body.

Observe the mind.

Simply be present.

Finally, gently bring awareness back to the surroundings.

Conclude with:

॥ ॐ शान्तिः शान्तिः शान्तिः ॥

Om Śāntiḥ Śāntiḥ Śāntiḥ

May there be peace within.

May there be peace around us.

May there be peace in all existence.

The Spiritual Understanding

The Chakra Sound Meditation is offered as a spiritual and contemplative practice inspired by traditional Sanatan concepts of Nāda, mantra, meditation and subtle-body awareness.

It encourages us to remember that conscious living is not only about what we do externally, but also about how deeply we listen, breathe, observe and connect with ourselves.

Sound becomes vibration.

Vibration becomes awareness.

Awareness becomes silence.

Silence becomes a doorway to consciousness.
